    Here's the deal!

    Elemental Jockeys is a video/mini-TS-related-project I'm working on with (so far) slayermon and schnitz - we need more people involved though!

    We want to make a video to post on youtube combining some ideas for the various areas of Top Secret (Characters, Tracks, Beasts, Weapons, everything!) that I've had and open it up to CM to help create the video and storyboards/interface flowcharting. Creating this subproject will hopefully up the bar for quality submissions and get people working together more. Might need slightly longer deadlines, but if we can do this I would think its a good thing to submit to boss camp.

    Overall theme of the idea:
    I'm thinking it would be neat for every character to have an elemental affinity, then find a mount kind of pokemon style (different mounts are attracted to you based on affinity) and then have different towns that you take supplies to and you get powerups from the supplies one way or the other (1 team is racing to try to take supplies from the supply convoy, the other is protecting it and will get a prize by protecting the convoy). Other game types are being discussed too.

    Hammerpult (powerups would be decided by elemental affinity)

    Schnitz had a neat idea for another game type:

    Here is an idea I've had for a mini-game based on your idea.
    I've tried to incorporate the use of elements with each team coming from a specific elemental town.

    These are the Wiki's that got me thinking.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_elements_%28Chinese_philosophy%29

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aether_%28classical_element%29

    Map Type: Elemental Conquer

    Map consists of 5 towns. Each town represents an element: fire, water, air, earth and Aether.

    4 teams are created at the begining of a round, each team representing one of the four basic elements. The goal is to achieve the fifth element, Aether, by destroying the other towns and gaining control of each towns element.

    Each team must effectively use their element to conquer a rival town. When a rival town is captured the winning team gains the power of that town in addition to their previous ability allowing them to control another element and gain the weapons of that element.
    This team must now attempt to take the other towns while defending the towns they have already captured.

    To win the game, one team must take control of all four towns for a period of 60 seconds while the gates to the fifth town are raised.
    If the leading team is to lose a town to another weaker opponents team during this time the gates to the fifth element will slam shut.
    The winning team will have to defend against the other three weakened teams to win the fifth element.

    Winning the fifth element will allow a team to accumulate a new power-up or ability to take with them to the next round.

    I said:

    Here's a thought on capturing: The Aether town has 4 portals. The teams must get all 4 flags (one from each town) into the portals. The portals also record which team has the flags. Each time a flag is put into the Aether a town is captured and to recapture their town the losing team has to take a flag from their oppressors town back to their town. This is both a racing element and a unique game element.

    ~~~!~~~
    If you like this idea and would like to join in, please let me know here on the forum or by PM on the TS forums.
    So far we have:
    zratchet (me) - designer
    schnitz - 3d art and some design :)
    slayermon - will do video...
    mxoadonai - thanks for this subforum!
    We need a lot more on this and if anything is unclear just post and let me know!
    Hotness++ coming soon! Woot! :D
    Let's also keep in mind trying to get something thru the Taskgroups related to this project for Beasts and Characters 2b. If anyone would like to help with Taskgroup submissions related to EJ (Elemental Jockeys) please let me know. Weapons, Cards, Towns, and Tracks count too of course but it looks like Beasts and Characters are the main focus right now.
    Re: Here's the deal!
     I've got a short video on the way of some of my renders compiled with special effects.  I just have to wait a long time for renders cause my computer is crappy.
    I also have a couple of other projects in the pipeline so you'll get them as soon as they're finished.
    As for images of the elemental track, I'm not really a concept artist, but I can model things pretty well from plans. I told zratchet that I can start work in 3d as soon as I get some concept sketches.
    Is there someone out there who could design this track for us?
    PS.  If you want to see an update of the TYR it's in my gallery.:)
