     Rules

    • Please resubmit the same artwork you submitted with the first phase of the Character Design – Riders Task, or an improved version if you have one.
    • If you want to enter new character designs, that’s fine, but please enter a picture or text-based physical description of the character and answer the questions on the Submission Form.
    • All submissions are due by 9pm PDT on Sunday May 20.

Note: If your image is a “standard” human model it may remain as it is. By “standard” we mean it should be average human size (no tiny models or super tall models), it should have 2 arms, 2 legs, 1 head, 2 feet and 2 hands. It can possibly have wings, tails, or other additions so long as they are not over bearing or would interfere with the mount. Consider if something other than the body and clothing/armor of the character would need to interact with the mount, when mounted or dismounted. If it would do so, then it will have to be eliminated, unless you can come up with a way that it does not require specific animation. Example: Your character could have wings only when mounted, where the wings do not interact with any part of the beast. However, when dismounted, where the wings might interact, they would have to disappear, and you need to tell us how and why that would happen.

If your image does not match the standard human model, you may use this time to redo your original image, or tell us how it would be changed. However, remember that sometimes your character’s class or type can be adapted to a human model, even if you originally drew it in another style. What are the character’s qualities that make it interesting? If the character’s main quality is that it is very small, very large, or very alien, then that won’t adapt. But if it is, for instance, a very small clown – it could still become a larger clown and retain its “clown-ness”.

Finally, heads/faces do not need to be entirely human. They can have beast-like features, horns and other modifications. Some of the humanoid entries that had feline or canine features were acceptable (other than those with tails that might cause animation and clipping problems), but again, these can removed and still keep the essence of the character.
