Break the PM cycle...

Holla gang, just a quick request about private messages and getting work done behind the scenes.

Previously this was how it was handled, pm chains and facilitation to get the job to the artists with enough time for them to deliver the output.

We can move away from this now.

If you have a request, stick it on a work order.

Artists someone pm's you for work, push back on them and ask them to submit a work order.

We all have people and concepts we like to work with, sometimes its effective communication or goto people that haven't let you down before.

But one of the issues with continuing these relationships is we lose transparency in our bigger picture, which is empowering every individual creatively with our talent pool.

It's early days yet with regard this revision in our process, we have new tools, we have immediate deadlines, but the sooner we start using this platform and process, the more holistic benefit we will gain.

Feedback as always appreciated, enjoy your weekend cats.

This only applies for when someone in CM needs something drawn, right? Or does this tie in with BigglesB's artist archive and art request area?

I used our artists as an example, but it could refer to any talent pool function like writing, tools, even process.

I was also refering to inside CM where we have work orders, outside of CM you guys are free to negotitate as you like, if you can't get your requests done, then thats something we have to look at.

Up until now this hasnt been an issue.

The Work Orders will need to be monitored closely for the next week or two so that when something is posted to relevant people can be notified directly. I think this would be the best switch-over strategy to avoid people posting Work Orders that never get answered.

Perhaps you should make, along with the mass alert option, an alert group option and have people organized into writers, artists, etc that, when their option is selected, are the only ones spammed with alerts.

Yup the alerts are an extension of Work Orders. My intent is either use the milf alert system to notify relevant groups at the creation of the Work Order or use the Critical Mass Project Management tool to do a similar thing.

My goal is to eliminate as much spam as possible however so I want to ensure we don't just add another layer of data that can easily be ignored.
